Suffolk President’s Volunteer Recognition Scheme
Purpose
To recognise and reward the work of volunteers in those Rugby Clubs affiliated to the Suffolk Rugby Union. The recognition will be in the form of an award made on a monthly basis throughout the rugby season from September to April each year. The award will be a Suffolk Rugby Union hooded sweatshirt.
Who is eligible
The award will cover all volunteers in a club and will have two categories, those between the ages of 16 to 24, namely the Young Volunteer of the Month and those volunteers above the age of 24, namely the Volunteer of the Month. The volunteer must be a bona vide member of the nominating club.
Selection Process
Each club will be asked to nominate a volunteer from their club under each category, each calendar month, by submitting a nomination via e-mail. The nomination will consist of the following:
• The name of the volunteer receiving the nomination;
• The name of the club making the nomination;
• The name of the person making the recommendation;
• The name of the club’s CVC together with their contact details;
• The category for which the volunteer is being nominated;
• The reason for the nomination; in no more than five bullet points, why the volunteer should be selected for the award.
The e-mail will then be sent to the Suffolk Rugby Union’s Volunteer Co-ordinator.
The winner of each category will be selected from the nominations made each month by the Suffolk Rugby Union’s Executive Committee. The committee’s decision will be final.
Presentation of the Monthly Award
The Suffolk Volunteer Co-ordinator will advise the winning volunteer’s club CVC to arrange the presentation of the award.
